Review: Miniature Wargames #404, Wargames Illustrated #350

I've been a subscriber of WI and MW for as long as they've existed.   MW has recently changed, and WI changed a while back.

I was always taught that if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything.

My next blog post will include photos of the WSS game from our session last Saturday.

  1. Now that's what I call a deafening silence. Frankly, I have never had much use for the British publications other than the long departed Wargamer's Newsletter. Most of them seem to be long on words and pictures, and short on usable content. Useful for inspiration mostly. Many blogs have superior content.

    1. I guess I prefer "idea" articles, rather than zombies/mob/pirate/flavor of the day. I miss MWAN....

  2. I feel that MW has taken the final turn to the grave. It used to have good articles with rubbish photos. Now it is just rubbish. WI worked well whilst under Duncan, but then lost its way - especially when full of FoW stuff - often up to 80%. It is still the paper equivalent of going to Salute, Reading or SELWG but definitely losing headway. Inspiration is really its main purpose as blogs still are well behind on giving functional support to the hobby. Some online projects are well done, most definitely not so much.
